Liz Earle Botanical Essence No.15

I'm going to start this post off with my first memories of trying a Liz Earle fragrance, as it is a sweet one. I was sent the Botanical Essence No.1 perfume to try along with a selection of other Liz Earle products a few years ago. I fell in love quickly with it. I wore it everyday and would go through bottles very quickly, but what really made it special was the fact that their PR at the time was always kind enough to send me little get well soon parcels with some of my favourites in there and of course she always included a bottle of  Botanical Essence No.1. Whenever I wear it now it makes me smile but when I first got sick and was going through many hospital visits a spritz of Botanical Essence No.1 would always perk me (and always had the nurses asking what perfume I was wearing) and now when I look back at that time it makes me smile that one fragrance and one person managed to make my life a little brighter.

Onto Botanical Essence No.15 I had wanted to try this for a while so treated myself during a bout of online shopping a while back. Since I loved their first fragrance I had high hopes for No.15. Now I know perfume is a tricky one to review as it will always smell different on each of us, so I'll just ramble on why I like it. In the typically sleek and simple packing was the second of Liz Earle's fragrances. Unlike it's sister scent No.1 which is a fresh, light, citrus-y summertime fragrance. No.15 is a rich inviting deep fragrance, something that I love, over the past year I have been using richer scent and this fits into that slightly masculine yet still feminine genre for me. For most people I'm sure it would be perfect as a winter fragrance, however if you are like me, I've been wearing it through the summer. The rich, warming ingredients of tonka bean and vanilla, are mixed beautifully with the spice of pink pepper and cinnamon and a touch of rose. The blend of 15 world’s most precious botanicals really envelopes you in it, wrapping around you and warming you. I picture myself sitting in front a wood burning fire with a hot drink on a cold winter day. It's a comforting fragrance. I also like the fact it is derived from over 90% sustainably sourced natural ingredients, carefully picked and created by award winning French perfumer Alienor Massenet.

If you want to try it for yourself then pop over to Liz Earle here - Link!

Another fake tan set from Sienna X, the gift set comes in two shades light and dark so you can pick the right colour depth. Sienna X has become a staple tanning brand for me, especially the Extremely Natural Self Tan (Dark) 200ml  as it creates a gorgeous deep bronze, you also get the Extra Sparkle Shimmer Spray  75ml which is perfect for the festive parties and nights out, they will certainly sparkle under the lights with this, finally you also get a sachet of the exquisitely soft body polish sachet 15ml. The perfect set to make anyone look glam and gorgeous for the Christmas party.

Fresh Brown Sugar Affair £32.00
Fresh is a great brand, especially their body care products, the Brown Sugar Body Polish is always in my shower. The set has the Brown Sugar Body Cream 100ml, Brown Sugar Body Polish and their cult Sugar Passion Tinted Lip Treatment, this has everything you need to keep your body in top shape during the frost winter months. The sugar scrub leaves your skin feeling clean and hydrated, then lock in more moisture with the body cream, then not forgetting to keep your lips kissable and rosy with the lip treatment (I don't leave the house without the lip treatment now).

That's all for part 1, hopefully you have a couple more ideas for Christmas present ideas or maybe you have seen something you want santa to leave for you under the tree. The next part in my gift ideas will be smaller sets, and then I will be doing a video on little Christmas treats for friends and stockings.

There also will be a festive giveaway this week so stay tuned...

Liz Earle Botanical Aftersun Gel - LOVE

Liz Earle's Botanical Aftersun Gel has been a big source of comfort and refreshment for me during the very few days of hot weather we have had. I have rather weird skin when it comes to tanning naturally, if my skin is well hydrated I got browner than brown BUT if my skin is dry then I burn. Strange no?
Since I have been suffering with terrible dry skin on my body recently it was clear I was going to burn at some point over summer. This was the first thing I was reaching for when I could feel/see the heat in my skin, lathering it all on.

The light, lavender smelling gel dehydrates my skin in a flash. With some lovely sounding ingredients like organic aloe vera, organic cucumber and premium high-altitude lavender all help to keep your skin calm, whilst soothing the skin from any nasty sun burn. All coming together to nourish the skin and give you cool refreshing relief.

I. Love. It.
Basically: Feels nice, smells amazing and does the job of counteracting the damaging effects the sun can do in your skin (thanks to the vitamin E)

Mummy MakeupLoveer Talk Liz Earle Superskin and Clarins Daily Energizer♥

Hey guys you may know that every so often Mummy MakeupLoveer does some posts for me, this time she was trying out some moisturizers from Liz Earle and Clarins. Hope you enjoy her post, let me know what she should try out next! Away you go Mummy MakeupLoveer....

So recently, Louise asked me to try some products she had been sent for the more 'mature' skin. Cheeky mare - doesn't she know I'm only 24?

She gave me Clarins Daily Energizer Cream and Liz Earle Superskin Moisturiser & Superskin Concentrate. So I thought I would try each in turn and let her know how I got on. First , I should point out that in the past I haven't always looked after my skin as well as I should, plus I also suffer from rosacea with visible veins and I go red at the slightest stress.

So I started with the Liz Earle, The moisturiser has a not unpleasant fragrance but not the best either, but having used essential oils for years I got over it fast. The cream is quite thick, and on  my very dry skin does need some work to make sure it is absorbed properly before any make up goes on. However, having said that my face felt wonderful within a few days of starting to use the cream. I gave my skin some time to see if it reacted to the new cream before  I started to use the concentrate at night, its the dinkiest little roller ball applicator - great idea. Lou tells me I was using too much. I don't care, because my face never felt so pampered!!! I can honestly say I had no reaction to either product which is unheard of almost with my skin. My redness didn't seem so bad either...... but will reserve judgement on that as I was on a bit of a health kick too.

A few weeks later, I started to use the Clarins Cream instead. This is a much light cream with a much more pleasant fragrance and was absorbed very easily into my skin. I used this for about 3 weeks to give it a chance - and yes my skin did feel better than it had a few months before but it just had something missing that I had with the Liz Earle product. I'd still recommend the Clarins product, and I know a close friend of mine swears by it. I just think I was spoiled by the extra feel good factor from Liz Earle.

Value for money? Well there is a big gap in cost. I would be happy to pay the money for either product, depending on how flush I was feeling after payday!! My next purchase though will definately be the Liz Earle Superskin Eye & Lip Treatment - will let you know how I get on

Lizzie ♥

I thought I'd share some more products that I have been using to keep my skin looking tip top for summer. These three come from the wonderful Liz Earle, a brand I think we all love greatly!

♥Liz Earle Sheer Gold Shimmer

This is a fabulous little product for sunny summer days, it's very light and cooling on the skin. You apply it to where ever you want a subtle gold highlight, along your legs, collarbones or your cheekbones. I love this on my face and applied onto my legs if I'm wearing something that means getting my legs out I find it helps to illuminate my tan more, giving a golden sheen.

Packed with Naturally active ingredients include organic aloe vera, natural source vitamin E and 10 essential oils, it smells very herbal like other Liz Earle products.

Priced at £8.95 for 50ml on-line HERE

♥Liz Earle Gentle Skin Exfoliator

I've spoken about this before, but it deserves another mention it is the only facial exfoliator I have used in a long time. If you summer from blocked pore, black heads or a dull complexion then I'd happily recommend this to you it will buff away any impurities on your skin and clear away any dead skin cells with the help of purifying eucalyptus, softening cocoa butter and fine jojoba beads.

Priced at £12.50 for 70ml on-line HERE

♥Liz Earle Smoothing Line Serum

I've been using this for about 2 months now and having come to the end of it's little life I wanted to share this product with you as it's a real gem. Now I don't have major lines around my eyes but with a lot of make-up removal my eyes are as fresh as I'd want them to be this helps them to be plump and hydrated. It also makes my concealer goes on nicer and smoother.

You can also use this product around your lips, forehead anywhere you notice fine lines appearing.

Priced at £13.25 for 10ml on-line HERE

So there you go 3 speed reviews on products I'm loving as part of my skin routine right now.

Guest Post from Liz Earle ♥

Today I am absolutely thrilled to bring you a wonderful guest post from the lovely Liz Earle, when I was asked whether I would like to do this I jumped at the chance and said yes! I was a little shocked to find out she read my blog, I think she is wonderful. So here she is to share some spring skin care tips...

Dear MakeupLoveer readers!

I’m so honoured that I have been invited to share my spring skin tips with you all! I hope that my
advice will help you achieve complexion perfection ready for spring!

It’s time to wave goodbye to the dull days of winter and welcome the joy of spring with a clean,
fresh and blemish-free complexion.

Skin breakouts are not just a teenage problem. Spots can affect skin at any age and can be triggered
by many different factors, including hormones, genetics and environmental changes including
seasonal transitions. A careful skincare routine is an important step to help get spot-prone skin
under control and solve your seasonal skincare woes. Radiantly healthy, glowing skin is a great
confidence booster, but as the seasons change many of us can suffer from breakouts. As spring
is finally here, give your skin a little extra TLC by choosing the right skincare, eating an anti-
inflammatory diet and taking skin loving supplements.

Nourishing foods are a must if you want healthy, radiant skin – and the good news is that the whole
body benefits too. Great skin feeders include fruits, vegetables, mixed nuts and seeds which are a
power-house of energy and nutrients, bursting with skin-improving protein, essential fatty acids,
vitamins and minerals. I also try to include skin friendly vitamin E-rich foods in my diet as it is a
powerful natural antioxidant which works to optimise moisture levels and improve skin appearance,
helping to delay skin ageing by fighting free radical damage. Herbal teas can have a great detoxifying
and purifying effect on the skin also, particularly nettle, fennel and dandelion.

On top of a great skincare routine and healthy diet, increased water intake can also help hydrate
the skin. Try sipping 6-8 large glasses of water a day – use fresh lemon, cucumber sticks or fresh
root ginger to flavor. I also swear by natural source vitamin E food supplement capsules, a powerful
source of the skin saving antioxidant and very effective at supporting and repairing your skin from
within. Look for the words ‘natural source’ on the pack, as these are almost three times as potent as
the synthetic type.

Although it can be hard to motivate yourself during the chilly early spring months, exercise is every
bit as important for your skin as good food and skincare. It increases blood flow which delivers
nutrients and oxygen supplies to the skin. The benefits – pink cheeks, sparkling eyes and a radiant
glow – are instantly visible and the good news is you don’t need to spend hours in the gym. A brisk
walk in the fresh air will help to clear your mind and leave you with healthy, glowing skin.

Tip: There are some great ways to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. One of my favourites
is Kettle-boiling stretches. Do these in the morning while the kettle boils... They take two to five
minutes, depending on how long you hold for.
1. Face the wall or door, with your feet about 25cm away from the base. Without leaning on it,
stretch your arms up and press your hands into the wall. Working up from your feet, feel your body
stretch and align itself: press your tailbone and shoulder blades towards the wall, squeeze your
outer elbows towards each other, and stretch your palms and fingers up. Keep your breathing soft
and your jaw relaxed.
2. Stand facing a chair, hands on hips. Put your right heel on the chair seat. Straighten your left-
standing- leg by pressing the thigh back. Let the right leg stretch from hip to heel. Hold for 15
seconds and swap. Do each side twice.
3. Stand by a work top with your hands flat on it, shoulder width apart. Walk your legs slowly back
and straighten your arms out until your back is almost parallel with the floor. Your head should be
between your arms. You can feel your trunk begin to stretch and your spine realign itself. To help

the process, press your thighs back, tuck your tailbone and shoulder blades in, squeeze your elbows
towards each other and press your hands down. Keep your breathing soft and your neck and jaw
relaxed. Walk towards your hands to come back up.

I hope my tips will help you achieve clear, radiant skin for spring!

Best wishes,
Liz

Battle to the death ♥

This last week I have had really bad breakout, so I have been trying everything to sort them out and get rid of those evil things. So I thought I would share with you two fool proof products that never fail to shift my spots.

♥ Step 1:

This zesty scrub manages to dig out all the dirt from my pores and takes away any dead skin cells that are making my skin look dull. I love using this, you take a little ball of the scrub and mix it with some water till you get a paste then massage it onto the skin. I like to leave it on for a minute then wash it off with a facial sponge.

Revealing clean and clear skin.

♥ Step 2:

Firstly this smells AH. MAY. ZING. sometimes I feel face masks smell a little off but this like all Liz Earle products smells of floral essential oils, and it stays until you wash it off which is nice to help you relax. It really does pull everything out of the depths of my pores, without drying my skin like some deep cleansing masks can.

It also a great mask if you have oily skin as it helps to balance the skin out.

And after I've washed it off my skin is like a whole new being, with the spots retreating and my skin softer I can sleep soundly knowing tomorrow my skin will be back to normal.

Question? I really need to invest in some form on spot treatment to dab on throughout the day what one do you recommend?

Liz Earle Lotions & Potions♥

Winter is a horrible time of year for our skin, constantly going from hot to cold can dry the skin out and it can become irritated so it is really important that you remember to moisture your body as well as your face. That is something I always forget to do, easily done as I have a habit for my facial routine but always forget to whip out the body creams. However that bad habit has finally been kicked!

I have been trying a load of body lotions, and I thought I would share my thoughts on two that have stood out recently for me. From Liz Earle their Superskin Body Cream and their Nourishing Botanical Body Cream. Both lovely products to use.

Silly me though I seem to have misplaced my little tube of the Liz Earle Superskin so you will only get some snaps of the other one today, when I find it I will update the post. Sorry guys!

♥Superskin Body Cream♥
This is a really rich intensive body lotion, that is a dream to apply with its rich aromatic scent, I love catching a whiff of myself after using this. Formulated with 25% plant oils to help aid that intense surge of moisture into your skin. With "East African shea butter, organic rosehip oil, antioxidant cranberry seed oil and pomegranate extract, natural source vitamin E, plus the divine scent of neroli" it's great for your skin, I like to try use natural products when I can as I feel they are better for the skin.

Specifically I suffer from really dry skin on my legs that around my joints can become rather cracked, this is what I jump straight to use when it begins to worsen mixed with a little of the Liz Earle Superbalm just to assure that my skin is super soft.

I can't recommend this enough, I only have a small tube but it has lasted me a good couple of weeks so if you just want to try it you can, before getting the full 200ml. I REALLY need to get my hands on another tube soon! It has become a favourite of mine.. oops!!

Grab yours on-line or on QVC

200ml £27.50
50 £12.00

♥Nourishing Botanical Body Cream♥
This is another good product from Liz Earle, I prefer to use this on my upper body as the smell is divine. That is one of the things that draws me into Liz Earle products I always adore the smell and this body cream is no exception. With a heavenly mix of Pure Orange, Lavender and Rose-scented geranium oils it is a relaxing and dreamly lotion to apply, lifting your spirits with the scent.

Unlike the Superskin cream I don't feel this is as rich, but instead lighter which I like as it sinks in quicker. It doesn't compromise on the hydrating side of things, this is a great long lasting body cream. Very silky on the skin. I like the fact it isn't as rich. It is a soothing cream mainly due to the relaxing aroma is gives, it really is a pleasure to unwind after a stressful day in the bath then apply this after.

Price point it is cheaper than the Superskin so if you want to try a Liz Earle body cream but don't want to spend too many pennies then this is a better option.

Grab yours on-line or on QVC
200ml £15.50
50ml £6.00
30ml £4.50

These are the only two body products I have tried from Liz Earle, however I have heard good things about their Energise body range so it's on my list of things to try in 2011 along with their hand repair cream. I adore their foot care range, their is a review coming of it all tomorrow!

Liz Earle - Brightening Mask♥

By now you all know that Liz Earle appears a-lot in my skin routine, I was introduced to the brand back in April on QVC & ordered a few products, and I am still discovering new things that I love. Recently I had read about their Brightening Mask, and a few weeks ago I got my hands on it.

"Lacklustre skin doesn't stand a chance with this fast-acting, quick-fix mask! Containing purifying white clays and camphor oil, it delivers instant radiance. Avoid use on sensitive skin and the eye and lip area.

You only need to leave this on for a couple of minutes for this to work it's magic. It is such a pleasant mask to have on, the smell is divine very floral/herbal with a definite scent of witch hazel  there too. Bliss!

One pump is all I need for my whole face to give my skin a quick boost of radiance and clarity. I get dull skin around that time of the month, and this just helps to make my skin smile again. When I was reading about this Liz Earle also suggests mixing a little with your cleanse and polish so you get the best of both, cleansed refreshed skin that has a more radiant look to it. I mix a little every few days.

It's a clay based mask, that isn't sticky or runny. You rinse it off using your muslin cloth and some warm water, from application to rinsing it off is about 4 minutes. So no excuse for dull unhappy skin ladies!

Here's a snap of me with it on, you can barely see it! Lol

This has really impressed me and when I run I will certainly buy more. I also wanna try the other too masks they make, and I've heard great things about their gentle exfoliator as well, any good?

You can buy it on-line HERE or on QVC
RRP £12.00 for 50ml
