It's little old me here

Sorry for the lack of posting over the last few days/week, my boyfriend has come back from university for 3 weeks and we have just been catching up, so he has had my full attention! Blogging will return to normal in a day, I've not gone missing again. I am bursting with product reviews, swatches and new launches so will no doubt flood you all over the weekend with all the beauty products that I'm loving right now.

Also whilst I'm here, would you guys like to see more outfit/fashion posts on my blog/youtube channel? I'm not too sure whether to feature them again like I did last summer, so let me know below or tweet me @MakeupLoveer if you think I should.

See you soon....

Orla Kiely Candle Set

Next up in my candle series are the travel candles from Orla Kiely, they are gorgeous. I first came across the Orla Kiely brand whilst working at beauty PR company and fell in love with the perfume, so I was rather excited when I found out there were candles with the same scents. There are three lovely frosted glass candles in Fig Tree - Which is a light and fresh citrus scent, with lavender and a hearty woody base of amber creating a deep and uplifting aroma, Sage and Cassis -With green sage and fruity red cassis this is a rich scent but the subtle spearmint calms the scent to make it more feminine and soft, it will certainly help you unwind , Basil and Mint - This is much more energising scent with crisp citrus notes and refreshing mint, with a rich woody base it creates a lovely 'summer's day' feel. All with her famous prints of 'the abacus flower', 'spot stem' and 'flower stem', I do love the Orla Kiely prints they are feminine and classic.

£20.00 for the set
Available from John Lewis and www.orlakiely.com

Today on my face..

Face:
Boots No 7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream - Medium
Clarins Everlasting Compact Powder  Nude
New CID Cosmetics i-glow - Coral Crush

Eyes:
17 Cosmetics Falsifeye Mascara
New CID Cosmetics i-groom

Lips:
L'Oreal Rouge Caresse - 07 Cheeky Magenta

Today I just wanted something simply but still pretty with my makeup, so I kept everything very plain with just a pop of pink on my lips. The new L'Oreal Rouge Caresse lip sticks are my new obsessions, I think I need to go and pick up all the other colours they really are brilliant. I am also really impressed with the new No 7 BB Cream, it is up there with the Clinique BB cream so I shall get a review done for that in the next couple of weeks. Have a good day guys! xo

New Revlon Scent Nail Enamels SS12

Revlon have launched five new colours to the scented nail enamels, the shades are bright fun colours for spring summer but don't be fooled they actually apply sheer - like a jelly polish. You can build the colours up to the desired finish, I personally think they actually look nice with one coat, think a sheer wash of colour like a tinted lip balm. There is glitter in all the shades but it isn't the in your face kind of glitter, because the glitter is the same colour as the polish it seems to look subtle. The 5 colours seen above are: Pink - Grapefruit Fizz, Purple - Grape Fizz, Red - Watermelon, Yellow - Pineapple and Orange - Orange, they do have a few other shades from this range in more everyday friendly colours, nudes, peaches and pastels so you will find a colour that suits your style. As for the scent, it doesn't last forever but it does linger for about 20 minutes and they don't smell bad but you can still smell the traditional nail polish scent in there! Right now I have one coat of the pink on my fingers and 3 coats of the yellow on my toes.

NOTD - Essie Van D'Go

Essie Van D'Go
Right now it is all about peach, peach and more peach! So when I was choosing a nail polish I knew exactly the perfect pink toned peach shade to go for, Van D'Go. Two coats and the colour is opaque, sealed with one coat of top coat and this will last a good 7 days before I need to touch up any chips.

Clinique Age Defense BB Cream

When Clinique launched their Age Defense BB Cream I will admit I was quite excited, more so than when other brands had launched their own BB creams, I simply adore Clinique foundations. This hasn't let me down, despite my high expectations, it has in-fact impressed me more than I anticipated. Two things impressed me about the formula of Cliniques offering, the coverage is better than any other brands i have tried as you actually get coverage (Clinique say medium to full) medium coverage but you can build the cover to what you prefer. Secondly the longevity of this BB cream has far outweighed the others in my possession, I can pop this on in the morning with a light dusting of powder on my t-zone and I am set up for the day, no touch ups needed. I feel this formula works better with my skin type (normal/combo) as it does help control oil production and shine to keep your skin looking flawless all day long.

The added bonus' this will help prevent the signs of ageing with protection from both UVA and UVB rays (SPF 30) and it will help prevent environmental damage with the cocktail of anti oxidants.

Clinique Age Defense BB Cream SPF 30 comes in three shades, £25.00

(excuse the awful picture but at least you can see it on my skin!)

Clarins Colour Breeze

Clarins Colour Breeze collection has to be one of my favourite spring launches, I've already shared with you the instant light blushers that I love but now I want to show you a few other pieces from the collection. Now I have to say this again but I'm not a gloss girl, however there is just something about Clarins gloss' that I really do like. When these three Gloss Prodige's landed through my door I will admit to being quite excited to try them out, just as I expected the pigmentation and quality was fabulous. They have really great colour pay off and feel very moisturing on the lips, totally non sticky, I have been wearing Raspberry 06 (the middle shade) non stop for about a week now. Clarins say "A new generation gloss combining incredible shine, intense colour and lasting hold.
Its highly smoothing, gel-like texture which is non-sticky and shapes lips, coats them in a veil of softness and comfort." The other product from the collection that I love is the new Colour Breeze powder and blusher, described by Clarins "Like a breath of fresh spring air...". It feels very light on my skin, creating a satin like finish that just adds a touch of a glow to really awaken your complexion. I have been sweeping this all over my face after setting my foundation (Clarins Ever Matte review soon!) just to act as a little pick me up for my skin.

Gloss Prodige £15.50
Colour Breeze Powder £30.00

Rodial Glam Balm Lip

My name is Louise and I have a slight obsession with lip balms, right now Rodial's Glam Balm Lip is my favourite. It is a thoroughly hydrating and intensive lip balm, that will rid your pretty pout of any dry skin and leave your lips very soft. Over the last couple of weeks it has really had a tough job, the flu left my lips in horrible condition, the worst ever I believe but it was no hard task for Rodials Glam Balm Lip. With key ingrediants of Rose Wax, Shea Butter that nourish & soothe the skin and Vitamin E that helps to protect against environmental damage (something a lot of people forget in skincare -lips are important!) After using this religiously for 2 days, the thick rich formula made my lips feel supple and moisturised, completely rid of any dry skin. Impressive. This certainly lives up to the claims of plumping and repairing the lip area, "inject volume and fill in fine lines, smoothing imperfections for a flawless appearance" and like I said after only a couple of days of use the difference was definitely noticeable. With a subtle rose scent Rodial really is ticking all the right buttons here. The sleek pot looks very pretty set out, I really like the frosty pink with the silver lid, good packaging makes all the difference in my opinion. Now £19.00 might seem a little pricey for a lip balm but I've found that spending a little more does make a huge difference in the quality and particularly in the time it takes for the product to work. For me this is something I will be repurchasing, not for a while though as I've barely made a dent in the pot thanks to the rich formula. Great value for money!

Clinique Happy In Bloom

Clinique has launched their Happy in Bloom perfume this spring, it's fresh light floral scent that really does bring to mind a warm spring day in the park. For me it's the perfect perfume for spring/summer, quite light but with base notes that still lingers on the skin throughout the day. With notes of yellow plum, lily of the valley, white freesia and mimosa creating the top airy floral notes, while amber and white wood create the depth of the perfume. When you first spray it on you get the crisp freshness of the fruity florals, then when it settles in you get soft musky scent that has real body but remains very feminine.

Plus with the gorgeous floral pattern on the glass bottle it certainly goes well the colour trends for spring/summer '12. I think out of all the bottle designs Clinique has done with Happy in Bloom this has to be my favourite, it certainly makes you think summer!

Jemma Kidd i-design Shadows

A while ago I attended a Jemma Kidd event, where we were treated to the talented lady herself doing a demo of some of her best products. It's taken me a bit of time to get round to using the products but I'm going to share my picks over the next couple of weeks. I was unaware just how large the Jemma Kidd range was, the fact there are different lines within it was also new to me, I got a chance to have a play with most of her products and was impressed with everything I swatched there wasn't anything I didn't like. First up for review has to be these three i-design eye shadows, I was impressed with the creamy powder texture and the longevity of them on my eyes.

When I first saw these I knew instantly we wold get along, gorgeous taupe neutrals certainly go down well with me. For the last 3 weeks these are pretty much the only eye colours I have worn, or they have been the base for any eye looks I have done. The i-design range has a great colour selection, I'm going to share with you a couple of others in my next video, there is something for everyone here and these three certainly are great for everyone.
The formulation is lovely a fine milled powder, almost creamy to touch and blends really well on the eyes so you don't have to work hard to get them how you want. As for how well they last on the eyes, they survived a long day with me applied at 6am and were holding strong come 6pm that same day. A little colour fading on the outer corner but to be honest nothing really noticeable.

Price wise I think these are a bargain, at £8.00 a colour you get a lot of product and a great amount of quality. With over 20 shades in the range, from brights to neutrals you will find a colour you love.

Swatches from left to right:
Silhouette;Scene; Luxe
RRP £8.00

NOTD with Diego Dalla Palma & OPI

Whilst I couldn't sleep last night I decided I wanted to paint my nails, I had been polish free for a number of days and fancied something glittery and pink. I know exactly the two colours I wanted to use, diego dalla palma #71 and OPI Sparkle-icious. The diego dalla palma colour took only one coat, as did the OPI polish and then I finished them with Seche Vite top coat to add extra gloss. Diego dalla palma is fast becoming a firm favourite for me, I love their nail colours and their lip glosses are gorgeous too, definitely a brand to look at more closely.

Recently I have been all about rich deep colours on my nails, rather than my normal pastel shades and I have some fabulous nail related products to share on the blog in the coming weeks. It's all about nails right now!
