Skin care: Ups&Down ♥1

This is a bit of a different post, i am going to do this every so often instead of doing a big review on each, ill do one thing i have loved using and another that i haven't. It will be the same as my other reviews just quicker and shorter.

♥Sanctuary Hot Cloth Cleanser

This is nearly finished now, i bought this couple of weeks after i had run out of my Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, i wanted a similar product but nothing too expensive as i didn't intend to use it very long. I managed to grab it on offer in boots for roughly £4.00
It works really well, clears my pores and my skin is soft after, it has chamomile in it to nourish.
The squeezy tube is a plus, and i like the sleek packaging.
I didn't expect to continue to use this, but my skins glows, however i won't repurchase as i love my Liz Earle C&P too much. But if you want a cheaper option i recommend this.

♥Garnier 2 in 1 Eye makeup remover

I ran out of my usual eye makeup remover, and whilst in boots i spotted this. The blurb on the back made it sound nice and effective, "...without leaving a residue." even better.
Wrong. I get blurry eyes after using this, and it takes forever to get off my mascara.
This is something i will not be re-buying.

Tell me your #1 Skin care item?

The Body Shop: Baked to Last Eye colour♥

This is the colour i used in my previous FOTD it is The Body Shop Baked to Last eye colour - Sapphire. When i saw this colour i feel in love with the sky blue, super pretty. Then the dark side of smokey blue black.

Both side's have shimmer, but the shimmer is very fine milled so you won't have any chunky glitter floating around your cheeks mid day.

The eye shadow doesn't seem to crease, and the softness make's the shadow easy to blend too.

You can see from my FOTD how this creates a soft smokey eye, perfect to wear during the day. To take this into a night look i would apply more of the dark shade into the crease and blend it out.

♥Top swatches: Mixed with Vitamin E spray♥
♥Bottom swatches: Applied once with finger♥

Excuse my eyebrows im growing them out! But this is a close up of my eyeshadow, a bit darker for night time.

Nailene & my NOTD♥

♥I have used Nailene for years, apart from when i have acrylics on this is the only other brand i used for nail decor, glue on nails & i have found that their nail glue is the strongest and longest wearing. When i got the chance to review some Nailene products i literally giggled with joy, as i love this brand.

A lovely purple goodie bag flew it's way to me from across the pond, i was spoiled!

There is one pack missing, some blue glittery tipped nails, when i saw these i had to put them on straight away. I featured them a couple of days ago in my NOTD post.

If nailene do any other colours other than blue, i need to get my hands on them!♥
Today's NOTD

I used the 200 nails kit and then applied Sleek MakeUP nail polish - Turquoise

♥My last NOTD post♥

The quality of Nailene is superb, i have used the brand since i was 14 which is 5 years ago this month! No matter what kit i have used they always last a really good length of time, no chipping or breaks, and they hold nail polish really well. So easy to use.

So keep your eyes peeled for more NOTD posts featuring Nailene.

You can buy these in Boots & Superdrug
Prices start around £4.49

What is your favourite Nailene product?

Neal&Wolf Part 2♥

♥Elevate - Volumising Lotion♥

From Neal&Wolf:
"Goodbye to drab, limp locks and hello to luxuriously thick hair, filled with body. ELEVATE has been designed to leave hair stronger, fuller and give more control.

Designed to improve body and texture while enhancing shine and manageability. Specially selected ingredients complete the effect, reducing static and adding a spectacular glossy finish."

When i was asked to review a few Neal&Wolf products i choose them carefully, i wanted something that would give my hair some volume. My hair is fine, there's still a-lot of it but because it is fine i find it hard to get volume easily.

With this the key word is definitely easy. I wash, condition and heat spray my hair, then i apply a blob of Elevate into my roots, then finish blow drying with my paddle brush.

I love the smell of this too, i can't quite put my finger on what fragrance it is but it reminds me of a perfume! Anyway it is divine.

The packaging is sleek and simple, the push button top is nice, it is different not your normal cap. It is easy to control too, the bottle is firm so you don't squeeze too much out.

Here are some snaps of my hair freshly blow-dried using Elevate

You can see how full it looks, especially at my roots. I am very impressed how easy this makes it to create a decent amount of volume. If you want more a little amount of hair spray and back combing and you will have a sexy bed head going on..

Will i be re-buying? With hair i don't tend to re-buy as with my volume products i like to keep sourcing the next best thing, but this is in my top 5!

Have you tried Elevate? or anything else from Neal&Wolf?

The Body Shop: Baked to Last Event♥

On friday i was invited to the latest Body Shop Bloggers event in the elegant Westbury Hotel in London. We were welcomed by the lovely Natalie the ushered up to a suite and handed glasses of champagne and food to nibble on.

Much like the last event we were shown a presentation of the new launches coming up, and then given a demonstration of the new makeup by the wonderful Chase Aston.

The main focus for the event was the 'Baked-to-Last Colours' the new colours for summer. Each product is baked slowly over 24hrs in Italy, which results in beautiful intense colour and long lasting lasting coverage on your skin. Using freshly milled powderes and gorgeous shimmers, your skin gets a lovely glow and sheen from these products. No chucky glitter or shiney skin from these, this is due to extra pearl and less talc that results in the richer color.

They also contain Community Trade Olive Oil and  Marula Oil.

With the collection of products they have released two bronzer's RRP £14.00 , two blusher's RRP £12.00  and eight duo eyeshadow RRP £9.50.

My favourites from this are the bronzer - Golden Bronze and the blush - Petal

We also got to see the new lipstick products 'Delipcious Lip Sheer' RRP £9.00 and 'Tinted lip balm' RRP £7.00

For me i loved the pink tinted lip balm, very moisturising due to the cocoa butter and just a lovely hint of rosey pink shimmer to the lips.
They are also launching two new products to the Vitamin C range, a new eye treatment Eye Reviver Duo that has a rollerball to soothe the eye area and a cream at the other side to brighten and revive your tired eyes. I will be reviewing this along with other rollerball eye treatments soon. The other new release is the Skin Radiance Powder Mix, which you mix together on the day you open the product, because you want the Vitamin C to stay fresh which will help you get brighter skin, again i will do a review on this once i have tried it.

Finally they are launching a new Eco Hair Care range which will be sent to me in the next week or so, and i will be doing a separate post on that when i receive the items. The range is transitioning over from the current range, but more hair concern focused rather than ingredient focused. It smell's sooo yummy though, i could've sniffed that all day!
It was a lovely event, very well organised as ever, thank you to Zoe, Barbie & Natalie, as well as everyone behind the scenes that i didn't get to meet. I had a wonderful time thank you.

Lipstick - MAC Pink Nouveau♥

♥MAC - Pink Nouveau♥
I bought this and Girl About Town, as i couldn't decide at the time what suited me and after one wear off both i decided this suited me much better.
It is a lovely bright pink, with slight blue/peach tones, a cool toned lipstick. The Satin finish also means that you get a really pigmented finish, i find it sometimes a little drying, so 20mins before i apply this ill pop on some lip balm.

♥Swatched on hand♥

♥on my lips♥

It is a true Barbie Girl lipstick :)

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation♥

It isnt your typical creamy running liquid foundation, it is gel based with a lovely silky feel on the skin, and it is moisturising not too much for my oily skin aswell. This is a medium+ coverage, something you can layer and build up as and where you need it. I have combination skin, with an oily t-zone and i find this to last all day on my skin, it does fade a little around my jaw but that is normal for me.

I have had this for some time now, and it has just sat in a box used maybe once or twice, but this week i have used it everyday -especially on nights out! The amount below is more than enough for my whole face, and onto my neck, so i feel better value for money with this foundation.

Before i think i was using it wrong, i.e. the brush to apply it, i have found using my finger tips to blend a small amount in gives a flawless finish. At night i team it with Revlon Photo Ready foundation, these two are amazing together. It is slightly thick i think at first but once you get blending it becomes light weight and soft on this skin, it sinks in and set rather quick too.

Other plus' to Studio sculpt, it has Vitamin's C & E with an SPF 15 to protect the skin too. You are left with a healthy 'glow' to the skin, this does not set matte, but i like it. I'm definitely embracing more dewy foundations as of late.
Packaging is a simple squeeze tube, i prefer pumps as i feel i have more control however this isn't bad you don't feel like you are going to squeeze a whole bunch out!
This is quickly becoming a firm fave of mine, and i'm mad at myself for giving up so quickly on this product when i love the concealer so much!

Have you tried this? Do you like it?

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

This will not take me long.. The colour pay off is rubbish. It cakes. It doesn't cover. I basically looked like i had chalk on my face.. not a good look. For £7 i don't think so, i got better results from my Collection 200 pressed powder.

This gets a biiigg thumbs down from me, i bought this as three friends use it and really love it, and they look flawless with it.

However, i love the packaging, the swivel bottom very clever with the concealed mirror.

Did i get a bad batch? Have you tired this and liked it?
